Due to Air Canada’s canadian heritage, the Maple Room lounge showcases the beauty of locally sourced stone quarried from Ontario near the Eramosa River. The lounge proudly features this exquisite Canadian limestone known for its deep brown tones and wood-like appearance. Notably, the stone’s versatility becomes evident when cut as the vein and crosscuts produce strikingly different visual effects, further enhancing the lounge's unique character.
The lounge extensively uses our Cristocomb™ lightweight stone cladding, while durable quartz surfaces significantly enhance the space's luxurious feel. Custom-made pilasters and sleeper pods wrapped in Eramosa limestone create a seamless, monolithic effect, adding a sense of grandeur to the overall design. Similarly, the reading areas feature bookmatched Eramosa walls, each measuring 2.4m x 1.8m, which creates an impressive visual statement with their mirrored patterns.
The bathroom and bistro areas also feature vein-cut Eramosa throughout, bringing a consistent and elegant touch to the spaces. The quartz countertops prominently feature in the bistro and dining areas, offering both beauty and durability, which are perfect for the high-traffic environment of an aviation lounge.
The Maple Room lounge's careful selection of materials and attention to detail did not go unnoticed. In fact, in 2015, the International Yacht and Aviation Awards recognized the lounge as the "Best First Class Aviation Lounge," a testament to its exceptional design and finish. Ultimately, the Maple Room lounge celebrates Canadian craftsmanship and natural beauty, offering travellers a luxurious and visually stunning environment to enjoy.
